Why we exist

Most failed commodity deals fail on information, not price: incomplete documents, unworkable payment terms, unverifiable counterparties and offers that bear no relation to the market. Our purpose is to make the physical trade more transparent, so that genuine buyers and sellers can recognise each other, structure transactions banks will finance, and avoid the schemes that circulate in broker chains.

Editorial standards

  • Sourced and dated. Every figure carries its source and date. Benchmarks are distinguished from indicative ranges, and indicative ranges from offers.
  • Fact, interpretation and outlook kept apart. Market commentary is labelled as such.
  • Independent of listings. Editorial content does not promote any listing, counterparty or price. Platform listings are clearly marked.
  • Corrected openly. Errors are corrected promptly, with the date of the change. See Sources and methodology.
